Strip not lighting no control with WLED

I have a new sk6812 from BTF this is my first time using wled however I am having an issue I can’t seem to find much about. The config in wled seems correct to me. Using a 12V 10A power supply so should be plenty of power strip only advertised as calling for 90W.
any help would be much appreciated.

The voltage level on data input is too low! ESP Evaluation Boards have 3,3 level outputs, most LED-stips needs 5V logiclevel. You will need levelshifter, like SN74LVC1T45, or a Controller with a levelsifter onboard.
That’s my solution: https://wled.discourse.group/t/once-more-esp8266-based-wled-controller/11130

Looks like only the green ( prob data) wire goes to the controler board. If that is the case you will need to run a wire from the Board ground to the LED ground. Hope this helps

So in the end you should have data and ground going from the ESP to the LEDs and the 12V positive and negitive going from the power supply to the LEDs.

Yep, what Happylights said. You need all DC circuits to have common ground.

Superluminal’s recommendation of a level shifter is also a good great idea.

Cheers guys did have the ground connected to the esp board aswell and changed the wiring around, funny enough the one in the picture gave me the better result, will try the level shifter, and get back to yous thanks
