Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro + WLED: Perfect Connector Fit

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share something I tested this weekend in case it helps someone else.

I bought a small WLED controller from Amazon — it’s the Wellvow WLED controller (nothing fancy, a dual-output waterproof box).
What surprised me is that the output connector matches my Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro perfectly, so I literally just plugged it in with no cutting or soldering at all.

Didn’t expect it to be this simple, so here’s my quick setup + notes.

:electric_plug: Hardware I used

  • Controller: Wellvow WLED controller (Amazon)

  • Light: Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro

  • Power: Original Govee adapter

WLED recognized the strip right away.

Here’s everything I used for the test — the full Govee set, the Wellvow WLED controller, and the original Govee power supply.

You can see the flash/USB port, and the two outputs that this little box comes with.

when I tested both outputs together —
two strips running at the same time, no issues, no flicker, everything worked smoothly.

The connector matches perfectly, so it literally plugs right in — no cutting, no soldering, no adapters.

The best part — and honestly the most unbelievable thing — is the music reactive effect

It honestly feels like the Lights are listening to the song and dancing along。

:crystal_ball: Next tests I’m planning

Since everything worked better than expected, I’m going to test:

:check_mark: DDP Sync

Running this strip together with my roofline WLED setup to see how cleanly multiple controllers sync.

:check_mark: UDP / E1.31

Curious if the timing behaves differently with the Govee strip.

:check_mark: xLights Mapping

I want to map the strip in xLights and try some DDP/UDP animations.
If it works well, I’ll sync it with my other outdoor controllers for holiday scenes.

:+1: Why I’m sharing

I prefer keeping everything inside the WLED ecosystem — presets, sync, DDP, schedules, xLights…
It’s all so much better than the stock Govee controller.

And since the connector matched perfectly, this turned into a super easy little weekend mod.

Cheers! :waving_hand:

Quick update on the music mode tests — and honestly, this part blew my mind even more than yesterday.

after tweaking a few settings and trying a couple different tracks,
the music reactive effect is even crazier than I thought.

The whole Lights reacts instantly and precisely.

It legit feels like the Lights are listening to the song and reacting on their own,
almost like the Lights has its own little rhythm engine running inside.

Hi, I am currently using the same WELLVOW WLED controller as yours to try to run my Govee (H706C) Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro (200ft) but it only controls the first 60 LEDs (100ft.) and the second half does not light up. I wonder if you are running yours with a shorter model perhaps H706A or H706B? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

I checked the settings and this output is currently configured for 60 LEDs.
You can go to WLED → LED Preferences and change the LED count to 120, then save and reboot the controller to test again.
