IP67 LED Strip Cap

This isn’t a very exciting question I am afraid, but for my sins I have purchased some ip67 ws21 leds (which as far I can tell is just lower ip rated LEDs inside a silicone sheath).

I’ve cut the lengths down, and am trying to fix new end caps that I have secured from eBay.

The problem I have is making the hole in the end cap so I can feed the wire through it, I have tried a bradle and a solder iron (to the detriment of the iron I’ll add).

Nothing makes a ‘good’ hole. Or any hole that doesn’t effectively close over…

The problem is that it is so tight that when I try and pull the cable through it pulls on the solder too much.

I need to make a good solid hole that is 2/3mm in diameter.

I then use StixAll pumped into the strip and end to glue and seal it.

Any suggestions??

Thanks.

This would be the best solution: 50 Pack Cable Cap with Sealant Use for 12mm/0.47in Width IP67/IP68 Waterproof led Strip Light They come with silicone glue as well.

@jinx has given a good solution.

If you really want to try and make the silicone type endcaps work, I’d try and make the hole you want with something like a leather punch.
You can find those in varying sizes from 2mm up to 10mm (or more).
They need a hammer and a solid surface, but they’ll make a clean permanent hole.
