IP67 strips and Aluminum Channels

For my project I plan on installing LED strips in Aluminum Channels on the eaves of my house. Since this is outdoors, I figured I should be using the IP67 strips.

However, I now see that the IP67 strips do not have the adhesive tape to stick into the aluminum channels. Why is this? Do the IP67 strips not need cooling? How should they be mounted?

Alternatively, I’ve read in some places that using the Aluminum Channels make it ok to use the IP65 strips outside (but I’ve also read places that disagree). Is there any consensus to this?

Thanks.

Nothing can stick to the silicone sleeve.

IP65 should be fine as long as you reseal everything.

I use IP65 strips in aluminum channel and that is just fine unless your house will be submerged under water…

@DanK Well i used IP64 in Aluminum Channels. Does it will work tell me in reply.

IP65 will be a better choice. the ip67 covering is a pain to deal with. here is one of many good LED videos that may help. https://youtu.be/Fu4qZW0pQm4
