My presets have disappeared, tried to save new ones and I get an error that says “sorry, there was an issue loading your presets!”.
Help!
Use a web browser and navigate to http://controllersIP/edit
like: 192.168.0.140/edit
Then delete the presets.json file.
Reboot the controller and see if it works again
On your computer:
Click:Config/Security and Updates/Back-up Presets
You will find the file in the download folder. From here click Chose File then go to your download folder and grab the presets. Click Upload. Click save and reboot.
Hope that helps/
Thanks guys, I got it working again.
@djmg2k what did help in the end the edit or the reset
I did both and tried other things like updating firmware, copying and pasting the json file I had saved from last good working state and nothing seemed to work so I left it alone for a while. Plugged it back in and it was working with all my presets back. So I honestly can’t say what worked…lol but it’s working.
What version of WLED are you running?
Probably a good idea to take a copy of your current Presets and Config for safekeeping.
You might also take a look at the preset.json file with a reasonable text editor that doesn’t try and format your file (I like notepad++).
Previous versions (and perhaps the current ones) really didn’t like extra spaces in the file.
Unfortunately the process of changing Presets in the “middle” of your sets could create gaps that weren’t always cleaned up.
Much of that has improved, but there’s always the possibility of leftover munge in the preset json file. That can especially be the case if you’ve upgraded through different versions without a clean preset file.
Will definitely do a backup.
I have version 0.14.4, I tried updating to a beta but wasn’t successful. Version 0.14.4 was the original version I installed on the esp32 controller.
