I wanted to introduce my small WLED controller here.
It is based on an ESP-12, has a LLC for the data line and for switching off the supply voltage at the strip, I installed a P-MOSFET.
For the FET there are two footprints available, SO-8 and TO-220.
Currently I am using an IRF7410 in SO-8, preceded by an IRLML6344 as inverter and driver. In this combination I can switch a 3m strip with 60LED/m reliably and without heat problems.
