Update to 14 corrupted presets

After updating to version 14 most of the controllers are acting really weird and giving me errors about invalid utf-8 encoding and a character number that keeps changing between several different ones. HA automations also fail. I have put version 13.3 on the affected controllers and the problem has been resolved. I would very much like to update to 14 on ALL the controllers. Is there something I am missing in the process, or is there an approved work around?

Thanks guys!

I pretty much recommend additional steps that helped me out, Before update the controller go to the Security & Update Section and hit Backup Presets!
(Only works on browser) and after that try Backup configuration. Now you can install the 1.14 update!

After updating just upload the downloaded files.
Same section Security & Update

I tried that and it still gives me errors. It also breaks Home Assistant service calls and automations. I am presently resetting every controller and making all my presets from the beginning, which is frustrating because I have 10 to 14 presets on each one.

I think I just figured it out. The newer versions don’t like β€œ_” in the preset name.

Alright, then you can mark this as Done

That didnt work. Fixed it for a day. Still have 5 controllers that crash Home Assistant automations. I thought maybe a factory reset would fix it but the problem still persists. Obviously there is some data thats persists after a factory reset. Is there a way to do a complete reset OTA or do I need to dig the ESP out and plug it in through USB? At this point I dont care about loosing all the work I did making presets. I just want the things to not crash Home Assistant.
