This may sound like a stupid question but after my experience with a ws2814 strip I got to ask. In the WLED config the number / length of led strip IS the true number and not divided by ic groups, correct? I have a ws2814 with 288 actual leds (ic controls group of 6) but the ledfx music effect that is supposed to be centered is way off to the right like it thinks the strip is twice as long as it is. I have tried to reduce the number of length in config to 48 (288/6) but did not resolve. I do not have this issue with any other strip. The ws2814 is setup properly as sk6812 w/ swap w & g and 288 length. Anyone know whats going on here?
WLED only cares about data addresses. So if you have 6 LEDs tied to 1 address then 6 = 1 So for 288 LEDs that are divided by 6 you would enter 48 in WLED.
Thats what i thought, although even with 48 as length it behaves the same way; effect is supposed centered but only see edge of it at the end of strip. will continue to troubleshoot
So, 48 is indeed the length for wled to operate properly. It looks like it may be ledfx issue, it behaves like the strip is longer; all the leds come on but only displays half of the effect
No clue. Just throwing out a guess, maybe LEDFx is treating the white channel as another # throwing the center off.
makes sense, tbd
