WLED with Costco Neon Flex Light

Anyone have any luck using WLED with the LED Neon Flex strips that are sold at Costco? They are made by American Lighting but I can’t find anything on them.

I have powered it with 24v and used a ESP32 board with WLED and tried it out but it’s not working well at all, it feels like it has a mind of it’s own.

Make a close up picture of your LED strip and post it here. Maybe someone will be able to find out what type of strip is that.

I’m wondering if these are TM1814 strips. They have 12 and 24v versions and when they don’t get a signal, they have an internal animation they start playing. That would explain the “mind of their own”

I would have to somehow cut into the silicone to get to it, it’s weatherproof and fully surrounded by thick silicone that’s an inch thick.

See if you can find it on their web site. Looks like they’ve got a spec sheet for their products.

I finally had a chance to tear it apart and this is what I found inside.

Anyone know what it might be?

I was able to get these working on a dig uno. Set to 50 pixels per string, ws281? And rgb. Works great.

Here is a quick write up on my experience setting these up on my house this last weekend.

Do these really need power injection every 3-4 strips? Being 24V I’d assume you could run much longer
