Beta 0.14 preset issue?

So I updated my WT32-ETH01 earlier today to the 0.14beta based on some comments I read that perhaps the ‘missing presets’ issue was resolved. Seems not. I did record a short video on my phone showing the exact issue but cannot attach it to this post.

I boot up, presets page inform me there was an issue loading them but populates the box with the last know preset in order to create a new one. Bizarrely the power-on preset loads just dandy. If I then change the display and create a new, second preset, the page refreshes quickly to show both my default preset and the newly created one, then instantly reports the same issue loading presets. If I create another preset and save, the same happens, the page refreshes to show the new preset and other ones, then instantly refreshes again to say there was an issue loading them.

Use /edit page to recover/fix presets.json or use restore (Settings > Security) functionality to upload backed-up presets.

Not sure what you mean by the /edit page, sadly I was in the throws of setting up my presets when it decided to have a wobbly so I don’t have any backups of working preset setup. My issue is 100% reproducible, I only have one preset I load on power up. I may perform another factory reset on it, program all my LED outputs again, then see what gives with the presets…

Ah, I guess you mean the section in the preset page where it shows what it thinks was last used. In this case I have this lot:

Which I guess I can save to a plaintext file, then try uploading it again…

I appreciate I’m replying to myself but I do this as a matter of completeness just in case someone else is reading/wondering. Sure enough, dumped that preset code into textedit, saved with .json file ext and uploaded it to my WT32-ETH01 and bingo, it’s now no longer moaning about issues loading the presets!

I am getting preset issues as well. If I go to make a change and overwrite an existing preset everything gets deleted. I copy the last good state of presets and try again but it happens everytime. I had to upload an old preset file I backed up a while ago and I can edit and save after I did that.

Another issue I am having with the new .14 update is with synchronization. I have 2 controllers that I sync together and the master controller will load all the correct colors/patterns to the preset but other controller has different colors and patterns. Everything worked fine with 13.3. and syncing the controllers. The lights will both turn on and off together but it’s just not displaying correctly.

Try using different flash mode and speed when flashing ESP.
