IR remote color issues with blue, light blue, and purple

Hi everyone,

I’ve been having the same issue for a while now with the tested versions (1.13-1.15A):

When I select the blue color on the IR remote, I get light blue. When I press the second color option or the button below it, I don’t get the expected color that resembles a deep purple, but I get blue (classic blue). The button is also incorrectly arranged. The same is true for light blue, which results in turquoise.

The colors are correct when using the web interface. The problem only occurs with the 24-key IR remote. I have tried resetting the ESP32 to factory settings, updating the LED strip firmware, and writing a custom IR.json file, but nothing has worked so far.

I’m hoping that someone can help me to resolve this issue

Hope you didn’t

Oops I meant the software on controller, not Strip :joy:

Any ideas tho?

Are you using the JSON remote or the one specific 24-key drivers?

I used the premade options an IR.json as custom

Ok, well you can edit the ir.json file and set it to a color value more to your liking. I’d use WLED to pick the color you want because there is alpha applied and what you see on a computer screen may not match your LEDs.

Also make sure you’re on an effect that uses colors and not just palette. If the colors had a palette that closely matched them, I configured it to set both the colors and select that palette. Obviously not all colors have a closely matching palette. So if you are playing an effect that only uses palette and your blue button sets both colors and palette, but your purple button only sets colors, then you wouldn’t notice the change.

Also there are several variants of 24-key remotes that emit different codes. Be sure your ir.json file is for the correct variant.
