LIFX Z-strip and WLED?

Hi all, TLDR; Can I hook up a LIFX Z strip to WLED?

I have a LIFX Z strip (unfortunatly purchased long before I discovered WLED. Controller seems to be DOA, thus I’d love to control it with WLED instead. Besides LIFX’s app kinda sucks as it’s cloud dependent for device registration and you need to keep their mobile app running to support any kind of effect on the strip.

There seems to be very little information about this. I noticed that a fork was made about 3 years ago, with the intention of creating a usermod, yet there’s been no activity on it as far as I can tell

I looked at the LIFX developer pages and it looks like they use a HSBK color mapping and some kind of zoning/grouping of pixels.

So, is it possible at all to hook up a LIFX Z strip to WLED or is it a lost cause?

Any update on this. I have several LIFX Z strips and the controllers are terrible. They constantly loose connection with wifi. It would be a life saver if I could use WLED.

I’m going to take a crack at this in the next week or so. My Z-Strip controller started malfunctioning, so I’m left without a working strip. I’m waiting on a 24V power supply and I hope to provide some updates.

Did you get it working? I also have several LIFX strips where the controller is dead or only works sporadically.

I’d also like an update on this one. Also have some lifx tile units laying around too…
I’ll assume what works for the z strip works for the tile…

Also interested: this Lifx controller sucks with Home Assistant, flickering once every 10 minutes and now out of order. Would be hapy to switch to any other controler using local WLED…!

Ehhh, count me in too…. been having problems with various LIFX products for months now, and would love to drive my strips with a different controller.
